The Frankfurt Zoological Society supports environmental education programs in 12 Protected Areas in the Ukrainian Carpathians. The FZS environmental education team recently completed a study tour of particular German protected areas which excel in environmental education and transferred their learnings to the employees of Carpathian protected areas through two-day seminars held on-site in the Carpathians.

The Origins of the Low Carbon Ukraine Project
In September 2023, Low Carbon Ukraine (LCU)-Project team leader Robert Kirchner participated in an expert interview with the 100GREEN YouTube channel where he discussed the origins of the LCU project and its role in Ukraine’s energy transformation, the importance of European climate legislation for Ukrainian businesses, as well as Ukraine’s future development.
Successful Thermo-Modernization of Buildings even in Times of War
As of December 2023, 6 multiapartment buildings in Sykhiv district of Lviv with the homeowners’ associations were fully modernized under the “Energodim” program of Energy Efficiency Fund – with the support of the project. Construction works at 3 of them were ended in 2022-2023 under the conditions of full-scale war in Ukraine.
